Thailand Ambassador to Vietnam Mr. Tanee Sangrat gives a lecture at ULIS

On November 7th, 2019, students of ULIS – VNU listened to a lecture of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam Mr. Tanee Sangrat. The lecture with the theme “The role of Thailand in the integration process of Southeast Asia” is one of the curriculum of the Understanding Asian Community subject.

The lecture was attended by Ms. Natcha Buddhinandana – First Secretary of the Embassy of Thailand, PhD. Chu Thi Bich – Head of the Division of Vietnamese Language & Culture, MSc. Nguyen Thi Van Chi – Head of the Division of Southeast Asia Linguitics  and Cultures.  

During the session, The Ambassador introduced the formation of cooperative organizations in the region and around the world and the context of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). In particular, he was delighted to congratulate Vietnam on the onccasion of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received the ASEAN Chairmanship from Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chanocha.

After that, the Thai Ambassador shared about Thailand’s development situation in recent years, the strengthening of international cooperation and Thailand’s influence in the integration process of Southeast Asia. In particular, he emphasized the increasingly strong Thai-Vietnamese co-operation in politics, economy and culture.

The lecture with The Ambassador brought a lot of interesting knowledge about ASEAN and Thailand to ULIS students.
