Students of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture Engage in “Cultural Diplomacy” at the Artistic Event “The Peacock – The Peacock Hanoi 2026”
From March 6 to 8, 2026, the dance drama “The Peacock – The Peacock Hanoi 2026,” created and choreographed by renowned Chinese dancer Yang Liping, was officially staged in Vietnam. During this event, students from the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture served as linguistic “bridges,” contributing to the success of the artists’ rehearsals and performances on the Vietnamese stage.

Accompanying the program, students of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture, VNU University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS), took part in interpretation and communication support, facilitating information exchange between the Vietnamese organizers and the Chinese art troupe throughout the preparation, rehearsal, and performance stages.

The student interpreters included Le Van Dai, Nguyen Thi Lien Anh, Vu Thi Len, Le Duy Manh, Doan Ngoc My Hoa, and Trinh Thi Thu Huong. With strong language proficiency and effective communication skills, they provided valuable support in professional exchanges, ensuring smooth coordination and successful performances by the artists.

Sharing her experience, Trinh Thi Thu Huong noted: “I had known about ‘The Peacock’ before and always hoped to watch it live. Therefore, I feel truly fortunate to have joined the interpretation team for this event, to work with the artists, and to directly enjoy such outstanding artistic performances. It has been a very memorable experience in my student life.”

Through this activity, students not only gained hands-on working experience and enhanced their interpreting and intercultural communication skills but also had the opportunity to engage directly with internationally acclaimed artistic productions.

The participation of ULIS students in this event once again highlights the faculty’s training quality and its practice-oriented approach. It also affirms the role of ULIS students as “bridges of language and culture” in promoting international exchange and cooperation between Vietnam and China.
