On May 18^th, 2020, ULIS-VNU held the closing ceremony of the 1^st Laotian language class and awarded prizes to prize-winners in the Laotian speaking contest.

Attending the ceremony was Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Chi – Head of the Division of Southeast Asia Linguistics and Culture, all teachers in the Division and students who were studying the language.

At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Chi extended her thanks to the students for choosing to study Laotian as the second foreign language. “I hope all of you will have a wonderful school year and inspire junior students to be more interested in learning Laotian language”, she said.

Duong Thi Bich Hang (class 18C9) said at the ceremony: “Laotian language has come to you as a destiny. Initially, I joined the class because it was free to study. Now, I realize that the language has given me a new experience.”

Moreover, the teachers also awarded prizes to students who won the Laotian Speaking Contest held to celebrate the end of the first Laotian course.
