Final showdown of the English Olympiad for English-majored students – E4US 2020 successfully organized

On December 4th, 2020, ULIS-VNU in cooperation with the Management Board of the National Foreign Languages Project to organize the final showdown of the English Olympiad for English-majored students. 

The English Olympiad for English-majored students organized by ULIS-VNU attracted over 80 teams from different educational institutions across the country.

Under the theme “Students and social responsibility”, the program is an opportunity for students to express their creative ideas, talents, and a sense of social responsibility through their English skills.

Delivering her remarks at the final showdown, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Huu, Director of the National Foreign Languages Project, said, ‘The English Olympiad for English-majored students, “E4US-2020” is a useful playground, and has become an opportunity for students to exchange knowledge, learn from each other, and affirm their own competence. We are very pleased to receive the attention and support from numerous teachers and students nationwide.”

Delivering his speech at the opening ceremony, Vice President Lam Quang Dong affirmed the attraction and significance of the competition to students all over the country.

The contest was divided into three sections: greeting, quizshow, and eloquence. Candidates all demonstrated the mentality of dedication and showcased their presentation skills, teamwork skills, critical thinking and answering skills.

The final results were decided and announced by judges as follows:

  • Grand Prize: Hanoi Medical University
  • First Prize: Hanoi University of Science & Technology
  • Second Prize: University of Foreign Languages – Hue University
  • Third Prize: Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam; Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.
