In July 2026, the Trade Union of the University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, successfully organized its 2026 summer vacation program, featuring two journeys to Van Don (Quang Ninh) and Dali–Kunming (China). With the participation of 210 members, including university staff, employees, and their family members, the program not only provided meaningful days of relaxation but also helped foster a spirit of solidarity, connection, and a culture of sharing within the ULIS family.

According to the plan of the University Trade Union, this year’s summer vacation program was organized in two trips. The group traveling to Van Don (Quang Ninh) comprised 138 members, while the Dali–Kunming (China) group included 72 members.
At each destination, members explored the local natural landscapes, learned about the local culture, enjoyed distinctive culinary experiences, and took part in a variety of group activities. The laughter, shared stories, and moments spent together created a warm and friendly atmosphere, turning each journey into a memorable experience for everyone.

The special value of the summer vacation program did not lie in the distances traveled or the destinations visited, but rather in the bonds and connections built throughout the journeys.
In the workplace, many staff members regularly collaborate with one another but may have few opportunities to get to know each other beyond their professional responsibilities. Spending time together, sharing daily activities, and experiencing new things together created opportunities for members from different faculties, departments, centers, and units to talk about their work, their lives, and the stories behind their respective roles.
These seemingly simple conversations helped bridge the gaps between different units, foster greater understanding and empathy, and thereby lay a stronger foundation for more effective collaboration at work. This is also the long-term value that the annual summer vacation program seeks to create.
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Doan, Chairman of the ULIS Trade Union, emphasized:
“The summer vacation program is not simply a sightseeing or leisure trip; it is also an opportunity for university staff and employees to meet, interact, strengthen solidarity, develop mutual understanding, and share experiences in both work and life. When each member feels more connected, the collective becomes stronger.”
He also expressed his gratitude to the family members who joined and supported the program, while extending his appreciation to those who quietly serve as a strong source of support and a steadfast “home front” for the university’s staff and employees.

The 2026 summer vacation program once again demonstrated the attention given by the Party Committee, the University’s Board of Management, and the Trade Union to the spiritual well-being of staff and employees. The program was not merely an annual welfare activity, but also a meaningful initiative in building organizational culture, strengthening connections among different units, and nurturing a spirit of togetherness across the University.
As the two journeys came to an end, filled with memorable emotions and experiences, each member returned home with more than beautiful photographs and new discoveries. They also brought back friendships that had been nurtured, stronger bonds among colleagues, and renewed positive energy to embark on a new chapter of their professional journey.
This is precisely the core value of the 2026 Summer Vacation Program: bringing people closer together, fostering a spirit of sharing, and working together to build a united, humane, and thriving ULIS family.
