ULIS Students and Lecturers Welcome Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae and Attend Policy Speech Program at VNU

As part of the official visit to Vietnam by Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae from May 1 to May 3, 2026, ULIS – VNU University of Languages and International Studies took part in welcoming activities and academic exchange events, helping to promote the image of ULIS students as professional, internationally minded, and culturally rich.

On the morning of May 2, 2026, at the Government Headquarters, more than 50 students and lecturers from the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture participated in the official welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae. All ULIS participants arrived on time, dressed formally, and showed a professional and respectful attitude, contributing to the solemn atmosphere of the event.

Later that afternoon, 22 students and lecturers from the faculty continued to attend the program in which the Japanese Prime Minister visited and delivered a policy speech at Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The event took place at Ngụy Như Kon Tum Hall and attracted senior leaders from both countries, VNU leaders, as well as many lecturers and students.

In her speech, Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae highlighted the future of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Japan and emphasized the growing importance of cooperation in high-tech fields. She also placed special emphasis on the role of young people, describing them as the next generation who will continue shaping the future relationship between the two countries and contribute to the development of the Indo-Pacific region.

Participating in these important events not only gave ULIS students valuable real-life experience in a high-level diplomatic environment, but also affirmed the university’s role and reputation in training high-quality human resources, especially in the fields of languages and international exchange.

Through the event, ULIS students left a positive impression with their professional manner, understanding of Japanese culture, and strong spirit of international integration. Their participation also contributed to strengthening people-to-people exchange and promoting educational and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in this new stage of development.
