Why ULIS

You’ll be greeted by one of the most ancient capitals in the world, where travellers can find well-preserved colonial buildings, ancient pagodas, and unique museums within the city center. Being the heart of Vietnam, Hanoi is a great place to explore on foot, this French-colonial city is also known for its delectable cuisine, vibrant nightlife, silks and handicrafts, as well as a multi-cultural community that’s made up of Chinese, French and Russian influences.

We also get some of Vietnam’s best weather: our springs and autumns are more beautiful and attractive than elsewhere in Vietnam and our winters are mild.

We have clubs for everything from sport, volunteering, dancing, culture, to language. And our sports facilities are some of the best around.

There’s an awful lot of stuff to explore outside the University as well: Hanoi has an active arts scene, talented makers, painters, musicians, writers, etc.

Love gaming? Head to Shopping malls.

Love peaceful places or stunning scenes? Head to the banks of the Red River.

Into craft beer and proper coffee? Head to the Old Quarter.

And then there’s the nightlife: from the pubs on the Old Quarter, to the pedestrians zone around the Hoan Kiem Lake.

No one comes to university just to earn a degree: you’re here to develop yourself, to learn more about yourself, to get to know new people and to explore your future career. The University has a team to help you with all of that.

Our Students’ Support Center is run for students. It promotes your rights and looks after your wellbeing.

The Center is buzzing with young, motivated, dedicated and inspiring leaders who are keen to take good care of other fellow students. Its mission is to make a positive and good influence on every ULISer.

The Center is there also to give you support and advice on everything from housing to health. You'll be provided with access to activities and services that broaden your horizons, increase your employability, bring lifelong friends to you and support you throughout your time here as a student.

All of our courses are built to meet your needs in your future career, and we’ll help you develop and manage your professional skills in the community.

On some of the courses, you can have a great opportunity to study abroad to broaden your horizons, learn new languages and explore different places.

Some of our courses have been assessed by the ASEAN University Network (AUN) - which means our teaching, learning and student outcomes are prominent and among the highest quality in Southeast Asia.

You’ll be taught by expert lecturers, many of whom earn degrees in different leading universities around the world and have impressive industry and research experience, and contacts. You might find your own research interest matching their fascinating research, which will inform what they teach you.

ULIS campus has over 200 lecture halls, classrooms, language labs mingled with green trees in 4.4 ha. Student dormitory are built in the main campus and can accommodate over 1000 students.

Newly built 1000 square meter sports complex comprises a stadium, football court and basketball courts located about 8 km from downtown Hanoi.

Ranked 16nd overall in Asia (1st in the nation) in the ‘QS 2023 Asian University Rankings’.
