On October 13^th, 2016, University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) welcomed and worked with delegates of International University of Japan.

The event was attended by Dr. Do Tuan Minh – ULIS’s President, Assoc. Prof. Ngo Minh Thuy – ULIS’s Vice-President, Dr. Dao Thi Nga My – Dean of Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture (FJLC) and Dr. Do Minh Hoang – Director of Cooperation and Development Office.

From Japan’s side, Mr. Utsuda Shoei – President of IUJ, President of Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association, former President of Mitsui & Co., Ltd, Mr. Konishi Shinichiro – General Director of Mitsui & Co., Ltd in Vietnam and Mr. Nagatsu Toru – Deputy Head of Department of Planning and Business of Mitsui & Co., Ltd in Vietnam.

At the beginning of the event, President Minh extended his thanks to IUJ, especially Mr. Utsuda Shoei paying visit to ULIS. In recent years, he has had many activities in Vietnam and been regarded as one of key factors to promote Vietnam – Japan relations. He has shown his great affection to ULIS through donations for training courses for Japanese teachers and researchers.

Previously, Mr. Utsuda had an impressive presentation in front of students of FJLC in 2013. Currently, IUJ has signed cooperation agreements with ULIS and had ULIS-based office.

President Minh appreciated contributions of Mr. Utsuda Shoei to Vietnam in general and ULIS in particular. As the IUJ’s President and Adviser of Mitsui & Co., Ltd, he will continue to have activities to step up ties between IUJ and ULIS as well as ULIS and Mitsui & Co., Ltd in Vietnam.

Mr. Utsuda Shoei also extended his thanks to the thoughtful and formal welcome of ULIS. He said that he always had a great affection to ULIS after a long-term cooperation. Hence, he is very happy when coming back to Vietnam and visiting a place full of his memories.

President Minh extended his sincere thanks to Mitsui & Co., Ltd in Vietnam for its donations in ULIS’s training courses for nationwide Japanese teachers. He also informed that after 2 Japanese teacher training courses in August, 2015 and August, 2016, one commercial Japanese course in March, 2016, ULIS will continue to open another commercial Japanese course on October 22^th, 2016. There have been 130 students registering for this course so far.

Mr. Konishi Shinichiro, the representative of Mitsui & Co., Ltd in Vietnam appreciated efforts of ULIS in training Japanese and affirmed that his company would continue to promote cooperation with ULIS through donation projects in the upcoming time.
