On January 11^th, 2019, ULIS-VNU was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Japanese Ambassador Umeda Kunio for its contributions to the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973- 2018). Attending the ceremony were Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy and Dean of the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture Dao Thi Nga My.

2018 marked a lot of achievements in Vietnam – Japan cooperation, and was the second year Japan held the position of the largest ODA investor in Vietnam.

In 2018, ULIS-VNU organized a lot of activities to promote and popularize Japanese culture such as student exchanges, conferences, seminars and cultural day. Besides, in 2018, ULIS has successfully enrolled the Fast-track Program in Japanese.
