ULIS delegation of teachers and staff attended 5th Anniversary of International Joint Master’s Program with Leipzig University
On July 4th, 2022, ULIS delegation attended the 5th Anniversary of the International Joint Master’s Training Program “German as a foreign language and second language in the context of Vietnam – German relationship” and “German language” between Leipzig University and ULIS-VNU at the headquarter of Leipzig University, Germany.
Delivering his speech at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Middell – Vice President of Leipzig University acknowledged the efforts of both sides in developing the project to open an international joint training program. He affirmed that this was the first joint master’s program of Leipzig University with a Southeast Asian partner, and after 5 years of cooperation and training, Leipzig University learned from ULIS how to operate and manage training programs.
Speaking at the Anniversary, Vice President Ha Le Kim Anh expressed her impressions of Leipzig University. “Both sides have endeavored to run the program smoothly, especially during the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The two sides also made their best efforts to assist learners in completing their studies”, affirmed she.
Also, at the ceremony, the students participating in the program from QH2017 cohort to the current cohort expressed their unforgettable feelings when experiencing their study time in Vietnam (for learners from Leipzig University) and in Germany (for learners from ULIS).
During this trip, besides attending the 5th Anniversary of the International Joint Master’s Program, the delegation and students met with the leadership and management team of Leipzig University, worked with the International Cooperation Department, introduced the development cooperation of ULIS, exchanged about quality management, reported on teaching tasks, learned about university governance, discussed renewal and development of joint training programs, worked with the Institute of Applied Linguistics and Translation, visited the library and campus of Leipzig University, and the city of Leipzig. During the trip, the delegation had the opportunity to learn about the history, scale and management of training, research and development cooperation of Leipzig University and the cooperation relationship between it and ULIS as well as other partners.
