The Secretary General of the French-Speaking Parliamentary Assembly visited and had a working session at ULIS
On January 14th, 2025, ULIS – VNU held the meeting with the Secretary General of the Francophone Parliamentary Assembly (l’Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie, APF).
Found in 1967, APF (l’Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie) is an organization that unites French-speaking legislative bodies worldwide, currently including 90 members.
In his remarks, President Nguyen Xuan Long expressed his admiration for Mr. Daniel Cesselin, a close friend of the global Francophone community and a dedicated leader in promoting cultural, educational, and diplomatic cooperation among Francophone nations. His visit to ULIS demonstrated the FPA’ commitment to French language education in Vietnam, with the aspiration of advancing foreign language education to connect peoples, foster mutual understanding, and build a peaceful and prosperous world.
In response, the Secretary General of the FPA, Daniel Cesselin affirmed that the French language and culture were highly diverse, not only in theory but also with great potential for application and development in Vietnam. He also expressed that the ULIS is a pioneering institution in French language teaching and learning in Viet Nam. He hoped that the French language in Vietnam would continue to grow and spread further, with the quality of learners and teachers improving over time.
After the working session, the Secretary General also had a meeting with students from the Department of French Language and Culture. During the gathering, the students had the opportunities to discuss various topics related to the French language and career opportunities with the Secretary General.
