Every 4 years, the International Conference on Vietnamese Studies (ICVS) is organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences for national and international scholars to present their research results, provide policy recommendations and research directions to the leaders of the country and all stakeholders around the world. Within the framework of the 7th ICVS this year, VNU University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS) is assigned to host a pre-ICVS international conference on “Vietnam’s diplomacy and international cooperation in the new era”.
The organizers hereby call for your contributions; details are as follows:
1.Conference theme: Vietnam’s diplomacy and international cooperation in the new era.
2.Date: 09 August, 2025 (possibly from 8-12am Hanoi time).
3.Venue: ULIS – SUNWAH Building, 144 Xuan Thuy Road, Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam.
4.Format: Onsite and online via Zoom Meeting (hybrid).
5.Forms of contributions:
a.Conference papers: abstracts in English (no more than 350 words and 5 keywords) and full-texts (4,000-6,000 words, citation and references in APA7 format, .docx) in the language of your expertise (preferably in English if possible) before 10th July, 2025.

b.Selected papers will be presented in 15 minutes + Q&A time, onsite or online.
c.Short-listed papers will be presented on-site at the 7th ICVS in October 2025 in Hanoi.
6.Key issues centering around the conference theme, but not limited to:
a.International, regional relations and their impacts on Vietnam;
b.Vietnam’s position in international, regional relations; Vietnam’s relationship with
international fora, institutions and organizations;
c.Vietnam’s cooperation with major powers and countries in East Asia, Southeast
Asia, ASEAN in the fields of politics, security, economy, culture, etc.;
d.Border, sea, island issues and Vietnam’s national sovereignty;
e.Ideology, politics, law, traditional and non-traditional security in Vietnam’s
diplomacy and international cooperation;
f.Other issues of concern.
7.Important dates
30th June, 2025: deadline for paper submission 15th July, 2025: notification to authors
31st July, 2025: notification of the conference agenda 09th August, 2025: Conference day.
8.Fees and fund
-ULIS bears all expenses for the organization of the Conference.
-Attendance is free. Participants cover their own travel and meal expenses.
-Fees to get the printed Proceedings of the Conference will be informed later.
