Award Ceremony of the 3rd International Russian Language Olympiad for Vietnamese Students and Learners, 2025
On December 2, 2025, the Award Ceremony of the International Russian Language Olympiad for Vietnamese Students and Learners 2025 took place at Sunwah Hall, University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS-VNU).

From Vietnam, attendees included: Nguyen Tien Dung – Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Education and Training; Hoa Ngoc Son – Vice President of ULIS; Trinh Quoc Khanh – Standing Vice President of the Vietnam–Russia Friendship Association; Nguyen Dang Phat – Vice President of the Vietnam–Russia Friendship Association; Nguyen Thi Thu Dat – Director of the Puskin Sub-Institute; Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam – Deputy Director of the Puskin Sub-Institute; along with delegates, lecturers, and participating students.
From the Russian Federation, attendees included: Konstantin Ilyich Mogilevsky – Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Nikita Vladimirovich Gusev – Director of the A.S. Pushkin State Russian Language Institute; Elena Viktorovna Bezdetko – Spouse of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam; Stanislav Viktorovich Fokin – Counselor at the Embassy of Russia in Vietnam; Oleg Shoma – Counselor at the Embassy of Belarus in Vietnam; together with a large number of students, teachers, and lecturers from educational institutions nationwide that offer Russian language training.
Delivering the opening remarks, Vice President Hoa Ngoc Son emphasized that this year marks an important milestone with many highlights in the Vietnam–Russia friendship. Therefore, being selected as the venue for the Award Ceremony of the International Russian Language Olympiad is a great honor for ULIS.

Following that, Deputy Minister Konstantin Ilyich Mogilevsky expressed his delight at the impressive number of contestants and the growing passion for the Russian language among Vietnamese youth. He extended his gratitude to ULIS-VNU and all partners for their cooperation in successfully organizing the Olympiad. He also shared his hope to welcome more Vietnamese students to universities in the Russian Federation in the future.

At the ceremony, Stanislav Viktorovich Fokin, Counselor at the Embassy of the Russian Federation, congratulated the contestants and encouraged them to continue nurturing their love for the Russian language and spreading it to others. He noted that as joint projects between Vietnam and Russia are receiving increasing attention, now is an excellent opportunity for young people with Russian language skills to thrive.

Afterwards, Nikita Vladimirovich Gusev, Director of the A.S. Pushkin Institute, expressed appreciation to the teachers who supported students throughout the competition, as well as the Puskin Sub-Institute for providing modern and effective teaching tools and methodologies. He extended his gratitude to all partners whose contributions ensured the competition was successfully organized.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Tien Dung, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Department, affirmed that the International Russian Language Olympiad is a meaningful platform for young Vietnamese learners who love the Russian language. He expressed his hope that the experience gained from the competition would become valuable knowledge for students—opening opportunities for study and research, while nurturing their passion for Russian.

During the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented certificates of appreciation to teachers who had accompanied and supported their students throughout the competition, as a gesture of gratitude for their dedication.

The event continued with the presentation of special awards by Vice President Hoa Ngoc Son, Elena Viktorovna Bezdetko (Spouse of the Russian Ambassador), and Nguyen Thi Thu Dat (Director of the Puskin Sub-Institute).
Also at the ceremony, Nikita Vladimirovich Gusev and Nguyen Thi Thu Dat presented prizes to the winners of the competition. The first prize in the high school category went to Le Thanh Hai, a student of Tran Phu High School for the Gifted, and the first prize in the university category was awarded to Pham Le Kim Chi, a student from ULIS-VNU.


The ceremony concluded with group photos. The event not only honored outstanding contestants but also served as an opportunity for Vietnamese youth to deepen and spread their passion for the Russian language and their appreciation for the Russian Federation.
