30th anniversary of teaching Japanese at ULIS-VNU (1992-2022)

On September 18th, 2022, the 30th Anniversary of Teaching Japanese Language at ULIS-VNU took place at Nguyen Van Dao Hall.

Under the theme “30 years of pride”, this was an opportunity for the University to look back on its successful 30-year journey in teaching Japanese, from just 2nd foreign language classes to secondary level to undergraduate and graduate levels as today. The celebration was also an occasion of exchange for generations of teachers and students of the Faculty.

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Vice President Nguyen Xuan Long warmly congratulated teachers and students of the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture. After 30 years of development, the Faculty has gradually established its position and prestige in the field of training in general and teaching Japanese in particular across the country. He highly appreciated the achievements that the Faculty had achieved and the efforts of its lecturers and students over the course of 30 years, and expressed his great expectations for the future of the Faculty.

On behalf of the Faculty, Dean Dao Thi Nga My reviewed the difficulties that the Faculty experienced to forge the “Japanese spirit” with hardworking, studious, receptive and humble people.

Mr. Watanabe Shige, Deputy Ambassador of Japan to Vietnam, affirmed that with its 30-year history in teaching Japanese, ULIS-VNU would continue to play a central role in cooperation and linkage among universities, academic associations and organizations that are teaching Japanese, thereby further improving the teaching of Japanese and training of elite Japanese language human resources to strengthen the relationship between Japan and Vietnam in the future.

At the ceremony, the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from VNU President for its outstanding contributions to the development of VNU.

Also at the ceremony, ULIS also extended its gratitude to former teachers and sponsors and received flowers of gratitude from generations of Japanese language students.

The 30th anniversary of teaching Japanese language at ULIS-VNU ended in an emotional atmosphere.
