Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quynh was elected as the Co-Vice President of Asian Association for Language Assessment (AALA).
November 10th, 2017 marked an important milestone for the brand development of language testing and assessment of the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) when Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quynh – The Director of ULIS’s Language Testing and Assessment Center succeeded in the election to become Co-Vice President of AALA.
AALA is an organization of leading experts in language proficiency assessment from Asian countries. The objective of AALA is to develop the potential of language testing and assessment in countries and move towards reducing the influence of “giants” in the assessment and teaching of foreign languages, especially English. That Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quynh became the Co-Vice President of AALA affirmed the prestige of language assessment activities of ULIS as well as Vietnam in the international arena.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quynh shared “I decided to get the nomination and support from my home as well as overseas colleagues and seniors with a view to convincing colleagues from other countries to recognize Vietnam’s international capacity of language testing and assessment. Most importantly, I do not want my companions to be regretful for having believed and supported me during the election.”
Dr. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Quynh’s success is the happiness of not only herself but also ULIS, her friends, her colleagues and activists in Language Testing and Assessment in Vietnam.
