ULIS Students promptly detect and assist a Filipino tourist at Noi Bai International Airport

During an internship program at Noi Bai International Airport, a student from ULIS promptly identified and assisted a Filipino tourist in difficulty, contributing to the visitor’s safety and helping to promote the image of ULIS students as responsible and compassionate individuals in an international environment.

 On the morning of January 3, 2026, Ly Duc Minh, a ULIS student undertaking an internship as a Customer Care Ambassador at Terminal T2, noticed a foreign tourist who appeared confused, fatigued, and was experiencing communication difficulties. With keen observation and a proactive spirit, the student approached the visitor, offered reassurance, and escorted them to the information desk for timely assistance.

During the assistance process, ULIS students worked closely with airport staff and relevant authorities, utilizing foreign language proficiency as well as communication and problem-solving skills to help verify information, establish contact, and identify the tourist’s place of accommodation. Thanks to this effective coordination, Mr. Junnie Reyes- Filipino tourist, was safely reunited with his family.

As an intern at Terminal T2 of Noi Bai International Airport, Duc Minh works as a Customer Care Ambassador, assisting passengers with flight procedures and directions. He shared that he learned about the opportunity through a ULIS student employment support fanpage and applied in hopes of experiencing a dynamic, international working environment.

Sharing his experience, Minh said that although the incident occurred over the weekend with limited support available, he patiently assisted the tourist and ensured his well-being. He added that knowing the visitor was safely reunited with his family was deeply meaningful, and affirmed that the knowledge and skills gained at ULIS have given him confidence in communicating with international passengers at Noi Bai Airport.

The timely and responsible actions of the ULIS student not only helped resolve an unexpected situation at the airport but also demonstrated the professionalism, competence, and strong sense of community service embodied by ULIS students in a high-standard service environment. This case also serves as vivid evidence of the effectiveness of practice-oriented training programs, enabling ULIS students to apply professional expertise, soft skills, and humanistic values in the context of international integration.

In November 2025, ULIS and Noi Bai International Airport signed a cooperation agreement to provide students with internship opportunities in an international service environment. Since then, many ULIS students have performed effectively in their roles, promoting an image of professionalism, responsibility, and friendliness among international visitors.
