VNU SIGNS A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH MOHAMMED V UNIVERSITY OF RABAT (MOROCCO), ITS FIRST PARTNER IN AFRICA

On March 28, 2017, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn and Mohammed V University of Rabat President Saadi Amzazi signed a cooperation agreement.

According to the agreement, VNU and Mohammed V University of Rabat would cooperate in joint training and research; promoting staff and students exchange; co-organizing workshops and conferences; and exchanging information about library resources and research publications.

Speaking at the ceremony, VNU President Nguyễn Kim Sơn said, as the leading universities in Vietnam and Morocco, VNU and Mohammed V University of Rabat shared common cooperation potentials.

VNU President believed that the two universities’ cooperation started with a meaningful event, the conference “Sharing historical memories between Vietnam and Morocco” co-organized by VNU University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Mohammed V University of Rabat on March 27, 2017, would strongly connect not only the two universities but also the two nations, Vietnam and Morocco.

As a founding and governing member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN), VNU is willing to introduce, connect as well as support Mohammed V University of Rabat in establishing its cooperation with the other AUN’s members.

Highly appreciating the great start of the two universities’ cooperation, Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam Azzeddine Farhane believed that it would contribute to the promoting of the cooperation in education between the two countries. He suggested that VNU introduce Mohammed V University of Rabat to the AUN’s member universities and support the organizing of conferences on its campus in the coming times.

Introducing Mohammed V University of Rabat, President Saadi Amzazi was pleased to advise that the signing of the cooperation agreement with VNU was one of the first meaningful activities to celebrate the 60thanniversary of the university foundation. He also hoped that Ambassador Azzeddine Farhane would further support the two universities in implementing their cooperation activities.
