The Faculty of Russian Language and Culture is an administrative and training unit of ULIS-VNU, which has the function of organizing the implementation and development of higher education programs. The Faculty works alongside with the Faculty of Graduate Studies to develop and form the graduate programs. Other missions are student management and implementation of scientific research within the Faculty.

programs and specialized majors; organizing the elaboration of detailed
syllabus on relevant subjects in order to ensure the uniformity and avoid
overlapping between subjects of training programs or between training levels;
organizing the development of training programs, elaborating schemes, compiling
documents and syllabuses according to the University’s development
orientations; implementing research on improving teaching and learning methods;
developing and implementing methods of examining and evaluating students’ learning
outcomes, ensuring the learners’ learning outcomes meet the demand of the labor
market. The development of training programs, curriculums, and teaching
materials must comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and
Training, VNU and ULIS.

The Faculty of Russian Language and Culture was established in 1955. From the early days of operation, the Faculty has become the largest training center for Russian experts in the country. It deserves to be the major hub of Russian language over the past decades. Since 1991, the Faculty has been assigned to organize Russian language and culture courses from Bachelor’s to Doctoral level, and compile programs and textbooks for Russian teacher training at various levels. Over the course of 60 years of construction and development, the Faculty has achieved great achievements. The Faculty is proud to be “home” of many famous individuals and Russian researchers. Many alumni of the Faculty have been holding high positions in different departments and fields of socio-economic nationwide.

2014 Dr. Trinh Thi Phan Anh – Vice Dean was crowned the winner of the International “Best Russian Teacher” competition organized by the Russian Federation.
In 2015, at the international competition “Russian meridians” organized by Russia for the first time to seek and honor outstanding units and individuals in the dissemination of Russian in the world, the Faculty was honored to be in the list of 10 winners.
