Meet the team to attend the 16th Russian International Olympic in Russia

In 2018, for the 3rd time, ULIS – VNU was appointed by the Ministry of Education and Training as the organizing unit to form the national team to participate in the 16th Russian International Olympic in Russia from December 1st to 8th, 2018.

On November 28th, 2018, ULIS – VNU held a meeting with the team attending the 16th Russian International Olympic in Russia.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Director of VNU’s Academic Affairs Department; Deputy Director of VNU’s Cooperation and Development Department Le Tuan Anh; ULIS’s Vice President Nguyen Xuan Long; Head of the Cooperation and Development Office Do Minh Hoang; Dean of the Faculty of Russian Language and Culture Dinh Thi Thu Huyen, students, and representatives of schools and parents attending the Russian International Olympic this year.

This year, three Vietnamese contestants went through two preliminary rounds to compete at the Puskin Institute, Russia. The University set up the organizing committee to summon up and organize training sessions for the students.

The delegation to Russia included Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Huyen and three students being Nguyen Quynh Anh and Dinh Thi Phuong Anh (Nguyen Hue High school for gifted students, Hanoi), Cao Thi Linh Chi (Hoang Van Thu High School, Hoa Binh). In addition to the speaking competitions (Russia Studies and Russian language) and eloquence round, candidates also have the opportunity to explore the culture and people of Russia through some outdoor activities.

Delivering his remark at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc recognized the position of ULIS as its role in teaching and training Russian language and in leading the delegation to the Russian International Olympic over the past 2 years.

Vice President Nguyen Xuan Long asserted that the University would support and create maximum conditions for the delegation and hoped the three students participating in the contest would achieve triumph and bring glory to country.
