On March 13^th, 2019, ULIS – VNU held a signing ceremony to officially cooperate with the People’s Committee of Cau Giay District. Thus, the two sides have formally agreed to cooperate on many aspects, especially those related to foreign language.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Bui Tuan Anh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cau Giay District; Ms. Trinh Thi Dung – District Commissioner, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee; Ms. Phan Thi Thu Ha – District Commissioner, Chief of People’s Committee Office; Mr. Nguyen Minh Hien – District Commissioner, Head of Internal Affairs Office; Mr. Pham Ngoc Anh – District Commissioner, Director of the Department of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training; Ms. Nguyen Thanh Tinh – Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training; Ms. Phan Thi Hong Minh – Head of Finance and Planning Office; and other officials.

On the side of ULIS, President Do Tuan Minh, Vice President Nguyen Xuan Long, Vice President Lam Quang Dong, Chairman of the Advisory Council for Cooperation & Development Nguyen Lan Trung and representatives of departments attended the ceremony.

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, President Do Tuan Minh emphasized that as the University was located in Cau Giay district, the University was always aware of its responsibility to the district and agreed with the Cau Giay District People’s Committee to support secondary schools in the district. In particular, in recent time, the University has sent groups of lecturers and students who majored in English Pedagogy to support at 3 secondary schools, including Dich Vong Secondary School, Trung Hoa Secondary School and Mai Dich Secondary School.

In his speech, Mr. Bui Tuan Anh emphasized that the number of people in different areas had been increasing very quickly, including the number of 27 nationalities were staying in the district, the improvement of foreign language skills for officials, teachers and students was very important.

Also, President Do Tuan Minh introduced to the delegation of Cau Giay District People’s Committee about a set of materials for high school English teachers to prepare for the National High School examination. This is compiled by ULIS and shared for high school teachers without charge to help them have more useful resources.

After that, President Do Tuan Minh and Mr. Bui Anh signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation.
