On December 19^th – 20^th, 2019, ULIS- VNU held a seminar under the topic “Application of computational linguistics in language teaching and research”.

The speaker of the seminar was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Dien – Director of the Center for Computational Linguistics – University of Natural Sciences – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar was attended by Vice President Lam Quang Dong; Management Board and staff of the Science and Technology Office; numerous staff, lecturers, Master’s students and Doctoral students.

Delivering his speech at the seminar, Vice President Lam Quang Dong extended his thanks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Dien for coming to share at the seminar. The Vice President believed that through the information shared from the computational linguistic expert, the attending teachers would gain a lot of useful knowledge to apply in their own teaching and research.

At the seminar, delegates learned about the concepts, the origin and development of Computational Linguistics, the applications of computational linguistics in teaching and research.

The seminar on “Application of computational linguistics in language teaching and research” received positive feedback from all the participants.
