On October. 2024, ULIS-VNU organized the International Forum “The situation of the world in the early 21st century and impacts on Vietnam”. This conference is to celebrate the 20th Party Congress of ULIS and the 70th anniversary of the foundation of ULIS, within the framework of the National Conference “Researching and teaching foreign languages, linguistics, and international studies in Vietnam” (UNiC 2025).

Speaking his speech at the opening of the conference, Vice President Lam Quang Dong affirmed that Vietnam was located in important geopolitical position, and the recent situation of the world has had significant impacts on various fields of Vietnam. Assoc. Prof. PhD. Lam Quang Dong believed that the presentations in the conference would help delegates gain new perspectives on the situation of the world in general and Vietnam in particular in the early 21st century.

The International Forum “The situation of the world in the early 21st century and impacts on Vietnam” with 5 presentations created a great opportunity for educational institutions, scholars, researchers and students to present and introduce their findings and researches about political issues of the world in recent years. 

Through the sharing and discussion at the forum, a picture of the political situation and international relationships was outlined, at the same time ushering in many new ideas for research among educational institutions, researchers and students.
