ULIS Global Village 2025
On January 14, 2025, the University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, hosted the “ULIS Global Village”. This event aimed to create a multicultural exchange space where students could experience and learn about various cultures from around the world.
The event was organized to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2025); celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS), Vietnam National University, Hanoi; look ahead to the 20th Congress of the Party Committee of ULIS for the 2025–2030 term; and welcome the Lunar New Year of the Snake. The program created a warm, joyful, and vibrant festive atmosphere through experiential activities and events for staff, students, parents, and partners from both within and outside the university.
The ULIS Global Village became a highly anticipated event for all staff, faculty, and students of ULIS. This year’s festival is a new version with a hope to create a cultural exchange event celebrating the spring season of various countries around the world, especially those whose languages are being taught at the university.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Principal Hoa Ngoc Son emphasized that the ULIS Global Village 2025 was not only an occasion to celebrate the cultural beauty of countries around the world but also an opportunity to strengthen friendship, mutual understanding, and the multicultural community in ULIS. Vice Rector Hoa Ngoc Son expressed heartfelt gratitude to the university’s partners, faculty, and students for their contributions to the success of the event.
Besides, a calligrapher Tran Quoc Chi, Chairman of the UNESCO Calligraphy Club in Hanoi, presented the university with the character “Khang” (meaning prosperity, peace, and thriving development) as a special gift. The Spring Festival featured a wide range of vibrant activities that showcased the cultural essence of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year as well as the traditions of other countries around the world.
At the ULIS Global Village 2025, Nguyen Khánh Vân, a student from the Faculty of English Language and Culture, expressed great excitement about participating in such a large and meaningful event. Khánh Vân hoped that in the coming years, ULIS would continue to organize the Spring Festival to contribute to preserving and promoting the beautiful cultural heritage of the nation.
The ULIS Global Village 2025 attracted a large number of ULIS staff, students, and faculty members. The program brought a vibrant atmosphere filled with the freshness of spring and the unique colors of ULIS as the Lunar New Year approaches.
