Deployment of the Field Program at 35 Secondary Schools in Ba Vi District in 2025
On April 8, 2025, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi held the Kick-off Ceremony for the Field Program at 35 Lower Secondary Schools in Ba Vi District.

This activity is part of the program ‘Improving the Quality of Foreign Language Teaching and Learning for Teachers and Students at Secondary and Primary Schools in Ba Vi District in 2025’, which is implemented with the following objectives: Providing professional development for primary and lower secondary English teachers in subject knowledge, teaching skills, and modern pedagogical methods aimed at fostering students’ competence, autonomy, creativity, and self-learning abilities; supporting students with effective learning strategies, access to diverse learning resources, and improving their knowledge, skills, and attitudes toward foreign language learning; creating English practice environments through intellectual playgrounds, clubs, and piloting the use of English as a second language at three primary schools: Van Thang, Co Do, and Chau Son; at the same time, enhancing the overall quality of English teaching and learning at both primary and lower secondary levels, nurturing gifted students, improving Grade 10 entrance exam performance, and strengthening the capacity of English teachers in Ba Vi District.
In recent years, the ULIS has collaborated with the People’s Committee of Ba Vi District to implement a program aimed at improving the quality of foreign language teaching and learning in the district. This year, the program is being carried out at 35 lower secondary schools and 34 primary schools, with pilot activities focused at three primary schools: Chau Son, Van Thang, and Co Do.

At the lower secondary level, the program focuses on applying AI in English teaching, building English environments at all 35 schools, training teachers through workshops, supporting English clubs for grades 6–8, and preparing 9th graders with mock exams and self-study resources.
From April 8 to 11, 2025, lecturers and student teachers from the ULIS participated in fieldwork and created English language environments at 35 lower secondary schools. During these days, they organized activities such as meetings, teacher training, providing materials, and teaching, with a focus on practical aspects and preparing 9th-grade students for the 10th-grade entrance exam. Prior to the fieldwork, the university held preparatory meetings and training sessions for the student teachers.
