2020 Korean Festival organized
On October 16th, 2020, ULIS – VNU organized the 2020 Korean Festival. The event took place to welcome new Korean language students and to celebrate the birth of Hangeul, the Korean alphabet.
The program was co-organized by the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture and Hanoi Sejong Center 2.
Delivering the opening remarks, Dr. Tran Thi Huong, Dean of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, extended her thanks to 218 new students who had chosen the Faculty as their ‘second family’ for the next 4 years.
In the program, the new students were introduced to the teachers and staff of the Faculty, the home teachers, clubs, the Youth Union and Students’ Association of the Faculty, and the Hangeul alphabet.
The Korean Language Festival 2020 gives students and visitors the opportunity to experience and explore Korean culture and language through many interesting and unique activities such as watching performances, trying traditional hanbok, drawing traditional masks, folding paper hanbok, playing traditional games, decorating shirts, enjoying Korean cuisine and others.
The festival really showed a small aspect of the authentic Korean culture, which was a great first impression for the newbies studying Korean at ULIS.
