Celebrating 25 years of Korean language teaching at ULIS

On November 16th, 2019, ULIS – VNU solemnly held the 25th Anniversary of Korean Language Teaching and Korean Cultural Festival – ULIS Korea Day 2019.

 

The event was attended by President Do Tuan Minh; Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy; Vice President Lam Quang Dong; former President Nguyen Van Loi; representatives of leaders of departments; Board of Management, staff, lecturers and students of the Faculty of Korean Language & Culture. Many alumni, students, former lecturers and staff also came to this great festival. On the guest side, representatives of the Korean Embassy, representatives of government agencies, businesses and partner universities at home and abroad attended the event.

 

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, President Do Tuan Minh said that the event was an opportunity to look back on the proud history of the Faculty of Korean Language & Culture. “The Faculty is well-deserved to be a pioneer in the country in teaching the Korean language”, he said.

On behalf of the Faculty Dean Tran Thi Huong presented a report on the development of the Faculty.

In his congratulatory speech, Mr. Han Sung Ho, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam acknowledged efforts of the Faculty over the past 25 years to help ULIS – VNU become a leading and trustworthy Korean language training institution in Vietnam.

At the ceremony, the President rewarded the Faculty itself and its lecturers who had contributed greatly to the development of the Faculty. The ceremony was also an opportunity to meet and pay tribute to generations of former leaders of the University and the Faculty.
