On January 3rd 2017, University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) organized the Closing ceremony for the course of English translation for staff and lecturers of VMMU.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Do Tuan Minh – ULIS’s President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Trung – Chairman of Cooperation and Development Consulting Council, Assoc. Prof. Ha Le Kim Anh – Director of Academic Affair Office, Dr. Do Minh Hoang – Director of Cooperation and Development Office, the lecturer-in-chief of the course, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Duc Thai – Director of Personnel and Organization Office, M.A. Vu Tien Thinh – Director of General Administration Office, Dr. Diana Dudzik – Expert of the US. Embassy, ULIS’s lecturers of translation.

From VMMU, Major General – Prof. Dr. Do Quyet – Director of Academy. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ngoc Tuan – Director of Academic Affair Office. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Bac – Deputy Director of Academic Affair Office and Staff from Academic Affair Office and especially 8 students took part in this course

Before the closing ceremony, the participants attended a simulation workshop in English together. In the workshop, Dr. Diana Dudzik presented the issue of cancer treatment with a variety of specialized terminologies in order to give students a chance to show their translation & interpreting skills. The workshop helped students actively participate in the discussion and debate.

Addressing at the ceremony, President Do Tuan Minh extended his congratulations to the students of VMMU on having finished the advanced interpreter training course. He appreciated their initiative in study and interpreting skill and hoped that they would effectively apply the knowledge learned from the course to their jobs. In addition, he expected that ULIS and Viet Nam academy of Military Medical would have more exchange and cooperation activities in the future.

As the lecturer-in-chief, Dr. Do Minh Hoang presented the report about the result of students. He highly appreciated the studying attitude as well as the studiousness of students to achieve high results after the course ended.

About VMMU, Prof .Dr. Do Quyet extended his thanks to ULIS for creating the best condition for students attending this course. Major General also showed his expectation to cooperate with ULIS in a more extensive and intensive manner in the future.

After Assoc. Prof. Ha Le Kim Anh read the decision on offering students Certificate of the course. On behalf of the Management Board of ULIS, Dr. Do Tuan Minh – ULIS’s President presented the certificates to every single student.

On behalf of the students, Lieutenant Colonel – Assoc. Prof. Luong Cong Thuc expressed his gratefulness to the Management Board of the two universities and lecturers who created conditions for them to take part in a useful course. He found that he and his colleagues broadened their mind in skills and professional level thanks to the course.

The closing ceremony ended up with an intimate party.
