1.Academic background

Dr. Hoang Thi Yen is currently lecturer of Faculty of Korean Language and Culture University of Languages & International Studies (ULIS), Vietnam National University (VNU), Hanoi after serving as Head of Korean Department (now Faculty of Korean Language & Culture) and Head of Korean linguistics Department. She started delivering undergraduate Korean courses in 1997. In 2008, she graduated with a Master’s degree in Korean teaching methods at Ewha Women’s University, Korea. In 2014, she received a Doctorate in Linguistics from the Department of Linguistics, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. The courses she taught include Korean language Practice, Translation Theory, Translation, Translation Analysis and Evaluation, Korean linguistic 1, Korean linguistic 2, Scientific Research Methodology , Comparative linguistics.

Dr. Hoang Thi Yen’s major publications include Korean Question Utterance monographs, Hanoi National University Publishing House, 2018; and various articles on Linguistics, Language and Life, Lexicography and Encyclopedia, and VNU Journal of Foreign Studies, along with several conference papers.
