Under the theme “English on the move”, all 6 final teams competed and contributed outstanding, creative, and highly artistic performances in which the performance of the team from the Military Medical Academy was the most prominent and convincing to receive the judges and the audiences’ approval and reception of the first Prize.

On December 9^th 2018, ULIS  – VNU and National Foreign Language Project, Ministry of Education and Training co-organized the Final showdown of the English Olympiad for non-English major students, ‘Pro-E Contest 2018’ with the participation of 6 teams from Military Medical Academy, People’s Security Academy, Foreign Languages University – Hue University, University of Technology – Da Nang University, University of Science – VNU HCMC, University of Economics and Law – VNU HCMC.

The event was attended by a lot of distinguished guests and representatives from the Central Youth Union, VNU’s Youth Union, Hanoi Student Association, VNU student Association, Management Board of the foreign language Project.

From the ULIS side, Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy, Head of the competition’s organizing Board, Vice President Lam Quang Dong, and representatives from ULIS’s units attended the event.

Delivering his remark at the final show, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen To Chung, deputy director of the Management Board of the National Foreign Language Project, said: “ The English Olympiad for non-English major students, ‘Pro-E Contest 2018’ is a useful playground, and has become a community for students to exchange knowledge, learn from each other, and assert themselves. This is the 4th year of the National Foreign Language Project, MOET has accompanied the students in this program, we are very pleased to receive the attention and support from a large number of teachers and students nationwide.”

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy expressed the University was honored when being entrusted with the task of organizing the Pro-E Contest 2018’.

After that, all 6 teams entered the greeting section and the knowledge section to find the three best teams to compete in the debate contest.

At the end of the two rounds, three teams from Vietnam Military Medical Academy; People’s Security Academy; and University of Economics and Law – VNU HCMC scored higher and steped into the debate round.

With the great stamina and talent of the members, the team from the Vietnam Military Medical Academy excelled over the other teams to be named as the team who won the Grand Prize.

In addition to the Grand Prize for the Vietnam Military Medical Academy, the other teams also won the following prizes:

• First Prize:People’s Security Academy.
• Second Prize:University of Economics and Law – VNU HCMC
• Third Prize: Foreign Languages University – Hue University, University of Technology – Da Nang University, University of Science – VNU HCMC
