On March 26, the University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS) ​​of Vietnam National University (VNU) hosted a meeting between the school leaders and the staff of the Union- Association to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s foundation and the successful organization of the 14th Congress of the Students’ Association.

The ceremony was honored to receive the attendance of Dr. Do Tuan Minh – Secretary of the Party Committee /President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngô Minh Thủy and Dr. Nguyễn Xuân Long-Vice President, Standing Party Committee, Chairman of Trade Union, Chairman of Consulting and Development Advisory Council, representatives of department leaders, cadres in charge of student affairs, 21 members of the Youth Union and 21 members of the Student Union.

Having speeches at the meeting, President Do Tuan Minh congratulated the student leaders of the two student organizations on having gained many achievements in recent years -the Youth Union and the Student Union. He said that this meeting was organized to create opportunities for the Governing Board listening to wishes and comments from the school’s most important stakeholders- the students- to build ULIS more and more strongly. The President would like teachers and students to work together so as to build beautiful ULIS, bring happiness and career inspiration to the staff and increase the satisfaction index of students.

Many lecturers attending the meeting also shared their experiences and sent messages to the leaders of ULIS Affair – Union. All the teachers acknowledged the efforts as well as the firm development of student-movement activities and expressed their high hopes of the students in cooperating with the university to properly deploy internship renovation, modify soft skills training, upgrade school’s facilities as well as complete other significant tasks of the university in the future.

Possessing more than 40-year experience in student-movement activities, Assoc. Prof. Ph.D Nguyen Lan Trung claimed that the students are experiencing the most meaningful time of their lives as they have good health and willingness of the youth. He advised students to live to the fullest and dedicate their passions to deserve as a cultured and youthful part of ULIS.

In addition, students also shared their feelings about affair-union activities and made contribution to some activities related to students like: creating internship profile, doing voluntary work, dissenminating information among students.

Young leaders appreciated the care and careful direction of teachers and hoped there would be more meetings like that. Therefore,  ambitious students have more chances to show expectations

The meeting between university head and affair-union leaders ended with open spirit, contribution and valuable ideas. Young brilliant leaders are believed to continue to be the connection between the head and students.
