Seminar on “Francophone Economy”

On January 20th, 2021, the Faculty of French Language and Culture held a seminar under the topic “Francophone Economy” (La Francophonie économique) with the participation of lecturers and students from the Faculty and representatives of other oraganizations.

At the beginning of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dinh Hong Van, Dean of the Faculty of French Language and Culture, introduced the two guests – Mr. Chékou Oussouman, Director of OIF Asia-Pacific Office and Mr. Étienne Rolland-Piègue, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities, French Embassy; demonstrated the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the Francophone Organization, the French Embassy and ULIS-VNU, and put forward the rationale and purpose of the seminar.

Mr. Étienne Rolland-Pìègue – Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Activities, the French Embassy in Vietnam emphasized the importance of French language in promoting diplomatic relations, economic cooperation with other countries in the Francophone Community and raised 3 main pillars of Vietnam in international integration, namely culture, politics and economy.

Mr. Chékou Oussouman, Director of the Asia-Pacific Office of the Francophone International Organization (OIF), then presented the history of Vietnam’s relationship with the Francophone Community, diplomacy issues, the connection among countries and future cooperation projects.
