An annual meeting with students who have special abilities in 2018 was held by ULIS-VNU on the 30th January, 2018.

The meeting was attended by the Governing board; representatives from the units which are Academic Affairs Office, Politics and Student Affairs Office, Labor Union, Youth Union, Students’ Association; representatives of classes; parents of both students with special conditions and normal ones.

During the meeting, teachers, along with students and parents, had sincere sharing. Many beautiful memories, admiration for students and their relatives’ effort to overcome difficulties, the dedicated help from the school board were mentioned with a very emotional tone of voice.

“The happiness of receiving ULIS offer letter is a memorable moment that I shall never forget. I was really content when being given an opportunity to study at university. In the last 3 years, I have received a lot of encouragement and support from lecturers and friends. It is of strong motivation for me to overcome all the difficulties in learning.” – Ms Ta Hong Lien, a sightless student, said.

As a parent of a special student, Ha An’s mother showed deep gratitude since the school board had created all conveniences for “Special Abilities” students to study. She hoped that all of them would strive for better lives in order to promote the opportunities offered by the school board.

Mrs.Thanh Hang, a lecturer of the Faculty of English Language Teacher Education highly appreciates the significance of this meeting for it is a very meaningful activity to students with special circumstances. Besides, teachers and other undergraduates are provided with the chance to help the disabled as a beautiful lifestyle of perfecting their human dignity.

The students, parents, and teachers also discuss the difficulties and solutions of helping students with special circumstances. A number of suggestions are offered with a view to creating ULIS as a close-knit family and supporting them to cherish dreams in addition to trying for a bright future.

Speaking at the meeting, President Do Tuan Minh asserted that 12 special ability students are genuine examples. Therefore, the school is willing to create optimum conditions for those students owing to our slogan ”Creating opportunities together”.

“ We are fortunate to have you and hopefully we will together create a
humanitarian, friendly, undiscriminating environment so that students can integrate. Students in difficult circumstances are also a special part of ULIS and I hope that we can continue to experience this meaningful journey together.’ said Mr. Do Tuan Minh

On the occasion of Lunar New Year, the university also gave gift and lucky money to special ability students. Though the meeting ended, its beautiful echos and warm feelings would always remain in student’s hearts.
