The National English Speaking Competition 2020 (NESC) organized by ULIS-VNU attracted 1,122 teams from 321 high schools in 59 provinces and cities nationwide.

Under the theme “Our Community”, the program is an opportunity for students to express their creative ideas, talents, and a sense of social responsibility through their English skills.

Delivering his speech at the opening ceremony, Vice President Lam Quang Dong affirmed the attraction and significance of the competition to students nationwide.

The contest was divided into three sections: Greeting, Knowledge and Debate. Candidates all demonstrated the sense of dedication and showcased their presentation, teamwork, critical thinking and speaking skills.

At the announcement of the results, the prizes were given to the teams as follows:

• Grand Prize: Ha Long high school for gifted students, Quang Ninh.
• First Prize: High school for gifted students, Hanoi National University of Education.
• Second Prize: Le Quy Don High School for gifted students, Da Nang city.
• Third Prize: Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for gifted students, Quang Nam province and Thang Long High School for the students, Lam Dong province.

In addition, the organizers also awarded 10 Innovation prizes, 01 Favorite prize and 01 Honorable prize for teams with excellent performances in the Video round.
