The opening ceremony of English training course for officers of General Department of Vietnam Customs in 2018
On July 3rd 2018, the University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) held the opening ceremony of the first English training course for officers of General Department of Vietnam Customs.
The ceremony was attended and addressed by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Ngo Minh Thuy – ULIS’s Vice President, Dr. Do Minh Hoang and MA. Mai Van Hoa – Director and Vice Director of Cooperation and Development Office, Dr. Vu Thi Thanh Nha – Dean of the Faculty of English, lecturers and 13 representatives for 14 students in this course.
The English training course is one item in the foreign language training plan for civil servants and officials of General Department of Vietnam Customs from basic to advanced levels based on their actual needs of using foreign languages. The course will last for two months and be organized by ULIS-VNU with the authorization of the General Department of Vietnam Customs.After finishing the course in Vietnam (at ULIS), students will have an opportunity to study in Australia in the second phase.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Vice President Thuy delivered her welcoming speech to the students. She asserted that with 60 years of tradition and experience in foreign language training, the university committed to creating the best learning conditions for the students and expected them to have meaningful experience at ULIS and Australia. The Vice President also extended her thanks to the General Department of Vietnam Customs for entrusting ULIS to organize this course.
On behalf of the students, Mr. Dao Duy Tam extended his thanks to the leaders of the General Department of Vietnam Customs and ULIS for facilitating them to improve their English levels. He and other students are determined to study well for their future tasks.
