ULIS embarks on developing Vietnamese language training at Yangon University, Myanmar
On February 18th, 2019, ULIS-VNU held a meeting with the Vietnam – Myanmar Friendship Association to discuss the cooperation in developing a Vietnamese Center at Yangon University, Myanmar.
The meeting was attended by Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Cooperation & Development Office Bui Dinh Thang, Head of the Division of Linguistics & Cultures of Southeast Asian Countries Nguyen Thi Van Chi, Head of the Division of Vietnamese Language & Culture Chu Thi Bich. On the partner side, Director of the Vietnam – Myanmar Trade and Investment Promotion Center Mr. Ong Vinh Khang and two members of Vietnam – Myanmar Friendship Association.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ong Vinh Khang expressed the aspirations of the Association as well as Vietnamese enterprises investing in Myanmar market about establishing Vietnamese courses for Myanmar staff. He also confirmed that the President of Yangon University would support ULIS at maximum level when delivering Vietnamese classes at Yangon University.
Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy shared about the orientation of developing more foreign languages in the Southeast Asian region of ULIS. Therefore, the University would support the counterpart to establish a Vietnamese Center in Yangon.
It is expected that the cooperation will begin as soon as possible. Accordingly, ULIS will send lecturers who are good at Vietnamese and English to teach at Yangon University.
