On the morning of November 28, 2023, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS–VNU) held a ceremony to sign a cooperation agreement with the A.S. Pushkin National Russian Language Institute. The event marked an important milestone, opening new opportunities for academic exchange and strengthening Russian language education at ULIS.

Representing ULIS at the ceremony were Vice Rectors Lam Quang Dong and Hoa Ngoc Son, staff members from the Office of Research and Partnerships, the Faculty of Russian Language and Culture.

From the Pushkin Institute, Rector Nikita Gusev and leaders of its affiliated units attended the event.

In his remarks, Vice Rector Hoa Ngoc Son highlighted the significance of enhancing Russian language training and research in the context of the growing strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia. He affirmed that ULIS places great value on academic collaboration with the Pushkin Institute and expressed hopes for further cooperation in student exchange programs, joint academic initiatives, and language-learning projects.

Responding to this, Rector Nikita Gusev thanked ULIS for the warm reception and congratulated the university on its 70th anniversary. He emphasized the longstanding friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, especially in the field of language and education, and expressed confidence that the newly signed agreement would pave the way for future joint activities such as international language events, exchange programs, and collaborative publications.

Ekaterina Atrashkevich, a representative from the Pushkin Institute’s International Cooperation Office, also expressed her desire to develop a concrete and long-term cooperation roadmap with ULIS. She suggested organizing summer and winter cultural–language camps to provide students of both institutions with meaningful experiential learning opportunities.

During the ceremony, the two institutions officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a new phase in the ULIS–Pushkin partnership. The event concluded with a commemorative photo session, symbolizing the shared commitment and cooperation between the two sides as they move toward long-term, mutually beneficial collaboration.
