Foreign Language Specialized School (FLSS) held a meeting with the parents of K50 student: Connection at present, strong steps into the future.

In the evening of September 15th, 2018, a meeting with 830 parents of the 10th-grade students (K50) of FLSS was held at Nguyen Van Dao Hall – Vietnam National University, Hanoi

K50 students’ entry to FLSS has marked its 50th anniversary. Delivering his welcoming speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Van (Principal of FLSS) expressed his gratitude to 830 parents who had chosen FLSS as the destination for their children. Also, he expected and believed that the parents would work side by side and support for FLSS in every educational activity.

Mr. Do Tuan Minh (ULIS’s President) said that he was touched and nervous entering in the hall. He also mentioned in his speech that for the first time at Nguyen Van Dao Hall, there had been a stage which was as imposing as it would be in a “film festival”. This not only showed FLSS’s effort, but also its respect toward the students’ parents. As “a father of a former student” himself in FLSS, he felt very proud and fortunate that his children had studied here. He understood the feeling of the 830 “new parents” presenting at the hall when their children surpassed nearly 3,800 other candidates to attend FLSS.

The 830 10th-grade students are divided into 19 classes with each of which has a head teacher. The school board introduced each and every teacher and presented them with flowers on the stage – a subtle gesture to imply the teachers for their great responsibilities.

The night ended with the song “FLSS in my heart”  performed by FLSS former students. The song received great support from teachers, parents and students of FLSS. Flying higher on the tradition and moving toward the future, FLSS has been a platform for students to live their dreams and a loving home that always welcomes former ones.
