ULIS graduate commencement 2018

9 doctoral and 113 master degrees awarded, 10 new doctoral and 142 master students admitted to the University this year

On November 2nd, 2018, ULIS-VNU held an opening ceremony for the QH.2018 graduate course and awarded degrees to the graduate students in 2018.

Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc, Head of the VNU Academic Affairs Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Quang Dong ULIS’s Vice President, Dr. Huynh Anh Tuan and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cam Tu Tai, Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Graduate studies, representatives of ULIS’s units, teaching lecturers, trainees and graduate students, new doctors and masters.

In his remarks, Vice President Lam Quang Dong extended his welcome to 10 new doctoral students and 142 graduate students who had been admitted to the University this year, and congratulated 9 doctoral and 113 master students who were conferred the degrees they had longed for and invested enormous time and efforts in.

Of special notice were 6  students admitted to the master program in collaboration with the University of Leipzig (Germany), 13 students admitted to the Master program in Korean Language, the very first program in Vietnam, and among the newcomers were 3 international students from Germany, South Korea and Laos PDR.

For many years, the University has always been the flagship in the country for graduate education in foreign languages. As a result, the Vice President believes that new graduate students will be given maximum access to study and have a memorable experience at ULIS.

At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc has shared his enthusiasm for the history, achievements and development perspectives of VNU, the starting point of many talented alumni and students who have good sense of creativity in education and in research activities all over the country.

He appreciated the contribution of ULIS in the great achievements of VNU, and expressed his hope that the University should promote more activities to support scientific research and students.

Also, at the ceremony, on behalf of the new graduate students, new doctors, and new masters, two representatives expressed their thoughts and gratitude towards the University.
