QS WUR by Subject 2026: Linguistics and Modern Languages of Vietnam National University, Hanoi ranked in the Top 300 worldwide
On March 25, 2026, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced the results of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, covering 55 disciplines across five broad subject areas from 1,912 higher education institutions worldwide, with approximately 21,000 academic programs evaluated.
A new milestone for Vietnam National University, Hanoi
According to the latest results, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has 13 subject areas ranked, of which 9 are in the global Top 500. Notably, for the first time, two disciplines in the Arts and Humanities group—Linguistics and Modern Languages—have both been ranked in the 251–300 band worldwide.

In particular, in the field of Modern Languages, VNU is the only higher education institution in Vietnam to be ranked, reaffirming its leading position in language, cultural, and international studies.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject are based on a set of indicators tailored to each discipline, including:
