On March 26^th, 2019, ULIS – VNU organized ULIS Student Festival of Innovation – Research – Entrepreneurship (F.I.R.E 4.0) in the 2018-2019 academic year.

The Festival was attended by Deputy Director of VNU Politics & Students’ Affairs Department Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh; ULIS Vice President Lam Quang Dong; Representatives of departments; research supervisors and students.

F.I.R.E is an annual program held by ULIS – VNU to encourage students to take part in scientific research, start-up and creative activities.

Delivering his opening speech, Vice President Lam Quang Dong said that for more than 60 years of its history, ULIS had always focused on developing skills for students and affirmed that the University had always been interested in promoting scientific research and entrepreneurship activities amongst students.

More than 400 students with 134 research projects participated in the festival this year, which were divided into 8 panel sessions. A variety of topics were chosen for these projects, with focus on Linguistics, Country Studies, Sociology, Education, Psychology, Pedagogy, Translation, etc.

The Organizing Committee awarded 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 10 third prizes and 20 consolation prizes to excellent student-researchers.

At the panel sessions,  students in the audience also voted for additional prizes to student-researchers in terms of style, impression or communicative impacts.
