ULIS Hosts VINH PARK Scholarship Award Ceremony: Empowering Students to Shape the Future
On May 19th, 2026, in celebration of President Ho Chi Minh’s Birthday, the Faculty of Vietnamese Language and Culture & Southeast Asian Studies organized the VINH PARK Scholarship Award Ceremony. The event honored students with exceptional academic and training achievements during the first semester of the 2025-2026 academic year. Notably, this also marks the inaugural academic year of the Teaching Vietnamese as a Foreign Language program under the Vietnamese Language and Vietnamese Culture major, which has already yielded highly positive results in student performance and development

With the core message “Shaping the Future Together,” the ceremony aimed not only to honor the students’ dedication and accomplishments but also to inspire a dynamic, resilient generation of youth. These students are poised to leverage their knowledge, cultural insight, and global integration mindset to promote the Vietnamese language and culture to the world.
The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Le Kim Anh – Vice President of ULIS; Mr. Vu Van Hai – Deputy Director of the Academic and Student Affairs Office; along with the leadership, faculty members of the Faculty of Vietnamese Language and Culture & Southeast Asian Studies, and the outstanding scholarship recipients.
Speaking at the event, Vice President Ha Le Kim Anh shared profound insights into the journey of language learning and mastery. She emphasized that mastering a language requires a continuous, long-term process of accumulation. It must go beyond basic communication to achieve a deep cultural understanding, enabling the language to be used as a tool for thinking and connection.

This responsibility is even more significant for students of the Faculty of Vietnamese Language and Culture & Southeast Asian Studies, who bear the mission of spreading the Vietnamese language to international friends. She urged every student to continuously cultivate their expertise, professionalism, and cultural insights to inspire others and contribute to promoting the image of Vietnam and its people globally.
As part of the program, the scholarship recipients shared real-world stories and personal experiences from their academic journeys. As “freshmen” entering the world of a second language, they bravely overcame initial obstacles and challenges—ranging from mastering a new grammatical system to navigating subtle cultural differences. Each story presented at the ceremony offered a unique perspective, painting a vibrant picture of the students’ journey toward knowledge discovery and self-definition.

During the ceremony, Vice President Ha Le Kim Anh presented the VINH PARK Scholarships to the outstanding students. Funded by Mr. Vinh Park, an alumnus dedicated to encouraging and supporting academic excellence, these scholarships serve as a well-deserved recognition of the students’ hard work and an inspiring motivation for them to strive further on their path of academic and personal growth.
