Launch of the “American English Viewing Marathon 2026” Project (under the ULIS CONNECT Initiative)
The University of Languages and International Studies – VNU (ULIS) and the Regional English Language Office (RELO), U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, officially launched the “American English Viewing Marathon 2026” on May 13, 2026, as part of the ULIS CONNECT initiative.

The program is a nationwide professional development initiative designed for English teachers, pre-service teachers, lecturers, and teacher trainers across Vietnam. Through the RELOLearn platform, participants will engage in self-paced online learning using high-quality Open Educational Resources (OER) from American English, combined with interactive activities and continuous academic support.
Running from May 15 to August 15, 2026, the program aims to foster a dynamic Community of Practice, encourage lifelong learning, and promote innovation in English language teaching. Participants will also have opportunities to receive certificates, professional development scholarships, and recognition awards for outstanding performance.
Representatives from ULIS, the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, the Ministry of Education and Training, educational institutions, and local Departments of Education and Training attended the launching ceremony. Speakers highlighted the project’s contribution to strengthening English education and supporting Vietnam’s goal of building a more comprehensive English-learning ecosystem.
With the message “Learn – Connect – Grow Together”, the American English Viewing Marathon 2026 is expected to become an important milestone in advancing professional development and international collaboration in English language education in Vietnam.
