The Faculty of Graduate Studies is a training unit of the University of Languages & International Studies, VNU, with the function of advising the President on formulating and implementing policies on training, scientific research, management and organization of post-graduate training, deploying scientific research activities to serve the teaching and training of highly qualified foreign language staff for the country.
Performing management in relation to graduate education level.
Coordinating with training departments in the University and lecturers, researchers inside and outside the University to deploy graduate training activities.
Developing plans and managing graduate training and fostering process to improve qualifications for different subjects in accordance with the graduate training regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and VNU.
Planning and organizing graduate entrance exams.
Coordinateing with the Faculty of English to organize the implementation of basic foreign language training courses (under the graduate training program) for units in VNU
Organizing the compilation of textbooks and learning materials for graduate education level.
Organizing and implementing joint training programs with domestic and foreign partners at graduate level.
Organizing scientific research for lecturers and students.
Implementing procedures for approving, recognizing graduation, Master’s and Doctorate degrees and academic transcripts.
Managing records, study results.
Coordinating with the Assets Management & Security Office and the Resource Development Center in arranging and effectively using equipment, halls and classrooms for training and graduate enrollment.
Coordinating with the Cooperation & Development Office and other Faculties to develop plans and implement international cooperation projects, programs and activities related to graduate training activities.
Coordinating with the Center for Language Testing & Assessment to organize examinations for graduate training programs.
Coordinating with the Center for Information Technology, Communication & Learning Resources and Hanoi National University Information – Library Center to develop, update information and effectively use teaching materials for graduate training purposes.
The Dean of Graduate Studies is entitled to sign a number of papers as authorized by the President
Performing other tasks assigned by the President.
Proud to train a number of generations of talented students. As of February 2017, the Faculty had 63 doctoral students and 502 master’s students who were studying and researching in 8 Doctoral and 11 Master’s courses.
One of the few units in Vietnam that has been granted 2 Certificate of accreditation according to the quality assessment standards of the Southeast Asian University Network (ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance, AUN-QA), including the Master of Arts program in English Language and the Master’s Program in Theory and English teaching method.
Being the first unit in the country to offer a Master’s course in Korean Language.
Organized the first national graduate research conference in 2017, which was being upgraded to an international conference in 2018.
