Series of Events for the 2025 International Chinese Language Day – Towards the 70th Anniversary of the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture
On April 16, 2025, the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture at the University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, solemnly organized the International Chinese Language Day, marking a significant milestone as the faculty approaches its 70th anniversary.

The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Hoa Ngoc Son – Vice President of ULIS, Mr. Zheng Dawei – Education Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, and Mr. Wang Dingquan – First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy. The event featured a series of engaging cultural and academic activities aimed at celebrating the Chinese language and its global influence.

There are some highlights from the vibrant series of activities held on April 16:
At the first station of the event, first-year students eagerly participated in the “Chinese Film Dubbing Contest” and the “Chinese Character Dictation Competition”. Their enthusiasm and dedication reflected not only a passion for learning the language but also the energetic spirit of the youth at the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture.

Running concurrently with the first station, second-year students tested their knowledge and quick thinking in the thrilling “Golden Bell Challenge”, where they demonstrated a profound understanding of Chinese culture.


As part of the program, third-year students took the spotlight in the “Economics Star 2025” competition. The contest showcased their critical thinking and practical application of knowledge in the field of economics.

While academic excellence took center stage, the Cultural Booths offered a creative space where students expressed their artistic flair through traditional activities such as fan dyeing and Chinese calligraphy. These activities not only celebrated the beauty of Chinese culture but also highlighted the students’ ability to embrace cross-cultural exchange.

The final and most emotional part of the day was the farewell event for the graduating class – “Farewell K55 – Spread Your Wings (展翅高飞)”. It was a heartfelt moment of gratitude and goodbyes, wishing the seniors courage and success as they embark on a new journey.

This year’s International Chinese Language Day held even greater significance as it coincided with the 70th anniversary of the faculty – a long journey built by generations of teachers and students, filled with cherished memories and achievements. More than a celebration, the event was a tribute to the Chinese language – a bridge that connects hearts and cultures across borders.
