30th anniversary of teaching Korean at University of Languages and International Studies (1994-2024)
On November 10th, 2024, the 30th anniversary of teaching Korean at ULIS – VNU (1994-2024) was solemnly organized at Nguyen Van Dao Hall.
Opening the ceremony, Head Nguyen Xuan Long extended his gratitude to the lectures and students of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture for their dedication over the past 30 years. Ph.D. Nguyen Xuan Long emphasized that with the increasing development of the collaborative relationship between Vietnam and Republic of Korea in the period of three decades, teaching Korean in Vietnam has become essential. Pioneering in teaching Korean in Vietnam, ULIS-VNU was proud of making considerable achievements and contributing to this process. Head Nguyen Xuan Long hoped to receive further support from businesses and government agencies of the Republic of Korea in order to enhance Korean teaching quality not only in ULIS-VNU but also in Vietnam.
Representing the Republic of Korea’s counterparts, Head of International Korean Language Education Fund Lim Yeong Dam hope that ULIS-VNU would play a crucial role in promoting Korean language and culture education. This would serve as a foundation for furthering collaborative relationships between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea in various fields such as economics, education and studies in the future.
Delivering her speech at the ceremony, Head of Faculty of Korean Language and Culture Tran Thi Huong affirmed that under ULIS’s strategic direction and with the growing support from businesses and government agencies in the Republic of Korea as well, the faculty has achieved significant growth and success in training research, collaborative development and community service in recent years.
On this occasion, the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture was awarded the certificate of commendation in recognition of its tremendous efforts and achievements over the past 30 years.
