On December 13th, 2023, ULIS – VNU held a briefing on tasks of the fourth quarter in 2023. Dr. Do Tuan Minh, ULIS School Council Chairman chaired the briefing. The briefing was also attended by Chairman of the Trade Union, Secretary of the Youth Union, representatives of departments of the University.

At the briefing, Director of the Personnel Organization Office Duong Quynh Hoa, read the decision to appoint Mr. Le Van Tuyen the position of Chef comptable of the University and the decision to appoint Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Van the position of Head of the Department of Arabic Language & Culture.

At the meeting, President Nguyen Xuan Long presented special awards to outstanding individuals and collectives including students of the University in the past quarter.

Delivering his speech at the briefing, President Nguyen Xuan Long highly appreciated the efforts of all the departments in completing their tasks in the fourth quarter of 2023 with outstanding achievements.

Reports on the performance in the fourth quarter of 2023 and the plan for the first quarter of 2024 and reports on the implementation of working and training regulations were delivered at the briefing.

Prominent results in the fourth quarter of 2023:

• Completed the development of projects related to: (i) Highly qualified teaching human resources; (ii) Hybrid training; (iii) Supporting learners to achieve Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) in language proficiency and (iv) Organization & operation model of FLSS; Project on financial autonomy of non-business units;
• Built and deployed the Science and Technology Fund at ULIS to meet the requirements of Decree No. 119/NĐ-CP dated 18 September 1999 by the Government;
• Completed the Self-Assessment Report on the Quality Accreditation of UMS and external assessment of five foreign language teacher training programs;
• Put into use the ULIS Incubator Space on the 3rd floor of Block A9 and the newly-furbished Blocks A4-A5.

Crucial tasks in the first quarter of 2024:

• To organize activities to celebrate Vietnamese Students’ Day and Lunar New Year;
• To organize ULIS Job Fair 2024.
