Briefing of the third quarter in 2024 held

On September 11th, 2024, ULIS – VNU held a briefing on tasks of the third quarter in 2024. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Long, ULIS President chaired the briefing. The briefing was also attended by Chairman of the Trade Union, Secretary of the Youth Union, representatives of departments of the University.

At the meeting, President Nguyen Xuan Long presented special awards to outstanding individuals and collectives including students of the University in the past quarter.

At the briefing, there was also a fundraising campaign to support and share difficulties with people in areas affected by storms and floods, and the launch of the Sign By Sign Language Club under the School’s Students Association.

Delivering his speech at the briefing, President Nguyen Xuan Long spoke highly of the efforts of all the departments in completing their tasks in the third quarter of 2024 with outstanding achievements.

Reports on the performance in the third quarter of 2024 and the plan for the fourth quarter of 2024 and reports on the implementation of working and training regulations were delivered at the briefing.

Prominent results in the third quarter of 2024:

  1. Ensured quantity and quality of regular undergraduate and graduate enrollment (2nd round) in 2024;
  2. Organized a conference of officials and employees to summarize the 2023-2024 school year; conference to review 5 years of ULIS Middle School (UMS) and new directions in the context of autonomy;
  3. Reviewed and adjusted ULIS Development Strategy to 2030, vision to 2045 (issued under Decision No. 1068/QD-DHNN dated 26 July, 2021); completed the project on job positions associated with the salary mechanism and internal spending regulations of the Foreign Language Specialized School.
  4. Renovated the organization of national conferences on researching and teaching foreign languages, linguistics and international studies in Vietnam (UNC); chose appropriate directions for science and technology activities and knowledge transfer at ULIS and VNU in the new context.
