On December 9^th 2018, ULIS  – VNU and National Foreign Language Project co-organized the English Day and Sound of the world 2018 music festival with the participation of over 1000 students from 20 educational institutions.

Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Manh Linh – Vice Chairman of Student’s Association, Deputy Head of Youth Union School Board in Hanoi; Delegates of the participating schools; and sponsors.

From ULIS side, Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy – Head of the Organizing Committee; Head of the Politics and Student Affairs Office Vu Van Hai; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang, Secretary of the Youth Union; Ms. Dang Huyen Thu, Chairman of the Student’s Association attended the event.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy said: “This is the fourth year, ULIS was honored to be assigned the task from the National Foreign Language Project to co-organize this program. Thanks to 111 educational institutions who have supported the program since the early days and wish the teams to achieve high results and have great experiences”.

Besides 15 performances, the program also had 17 tents built by students and sponsors to promote the images and identities of their units.

Ms. Ivana and Ms. Helena from Germany who are now working as language teaching assistants at the Hoa Binh Specialized High School shared: “We all feel excited to be in the program. We not only meet and talk to students in different schools but also have the opportunity to experience the culture and the life of Vietnamese students. In addition, we are very impressed with the students featuring in the English singing competition, they are very talented and also very active and energetic when bringing to the show very professional and good performances”.

In addition to that, there were 3 seminars organized under the theme ‘English Presentation Skills and International Integration’, ‘Successful Breakthroughs’, and ‘Industry Orientation and Examination Guidelines.’

At the end of the program, the Academy of Military Sciences was crowned the winner of the show; the second Prize belongs to Quỳnh Coi High School; the third Prize went to the People Police’s Logistics Technical Uiversity and Lam Bich Tra from FLSS.
