Exchange on Training Activities with the Delegation from the Singapore Ministry of Education

On February 21, 2025, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) hosted a meeting and exchange session with a delegation from the Singapore Ministry of Education as part of the “Teacher Leaders Programme.”

The event was attended by Dr. Hoa Ngoc Son, Vice President of ULIS, along with leaders and teachers from the ULIS Middle School. The visiting delegation comprised 10 officials from the Singapore Ministry of Education, led by Ms. Ravathi Veleyuthan.

Vice President Hoa Ngoc Son expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation, emphasizing the opportunity for both parties to learn and exchange expertise regarding the educational systems of the two countries.

During the exchange, representatives from the ULIS Middle School provided an overview of the school, including student enrollment numbers over the years, academic programs, and extracurricular activities designed to foster comprehensive development.

Following this, three representatives from Singapore shared insights into their educational system, covering topics such as “Who We Are,” “Our Education Landscape and Key Trends,” and “Enhancing Effective Communication in All Subjects.”

The program continued with a professional exchange session on “Using AI in Foreign Language Teaching,” presented by Ms. Nguyen Minh Hang. Subsequently, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, Head of the Natural Sciences Department, and Ms. Ngo Thi Thu Giang, Head of the Social Sciences Department, shared in-depth experiences on teaching methodologies and school management practices.

The Singaporean educators also discussed methods of integrating English into the instruction of non-language subjects, offering diverse perspectives on bilingual education. An open discussion followed, where teachers actively engaged in questions, shared experiences, and collaboratively sought effective teaching solutions.

At the conclusion of the program, both sides exchanged gifts and took commemorative photographs. To gain practical insights into the implementation of teaching methods, the Singaporean delegation observed two classes at the ULIS Middle School.
