On December 17^th, 2023, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Vietnam in collaboration with ULIS-VNU organized a celebration of International Arabic Language Day (December 18^th). During the program, the launching ceremony of the first Arabic – Vietnamese Dictionary in Vietnam took place, a passionate product compiled by lecturers of the Department of Arabic Language and Culture.

In his opening speech, Counselor Hamoud Naif S. Almutairi introduced the history of development and importance of Arabic in today’s era and congratulated the ULIS – VNU on successfully publishing the first Arabic-Vietnamese dictionary.

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Chairman of ULIS Council Do Tuan Minh extended his congratulations on International Arabic Language Day and at the same time affirmed the mission of ULIS in developing and spreading Arabic language and culture in Vietnam.

On this occasion, ULIS-VNU launched the first Arabic – Vietnamese dictionary which was compiled by a group of lecturers from the Department of Arabic Language and Culture, ULIS.

In addition, ULIS-VNU was honored when three students won prizes in the Arabic poetry recitation contest.
